Perfectionism is an affliction. I used to...Oh yeah. Perfectionism is an affliction. I used to think it was something about me that was a positive, but it definitely stands in the way of getting things done, and could quite possibly be my biggest weakness. I love making things for my kids as they are easy to fit and they are also perfect in my eyes, so what could go wrong? Thanks for being my cheerleader, Joy. I will be yours, too. I was looking at your blog recently and there are so many things to inspire me, and it all looks perfect to me :) Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04240613771053698106noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4659338788505532429.post-41354567243159272542014-09-29T22:54:55.351+10:002014-09-29T22:54:55.351+10:00Oh my gosh - we are more alike than I realised! I...Oh my gosh - we are more alike than I realised! I am really making an effort to tackle that perfectionism, because it often stands in the way of me finishing something, or even worse - starting something, if I think there is a slight chance it won't go perfectly. Why do you think I hardly make anything for myself? So much easier to get clothes to fit a kid, than me, when I am not a standard off the shelf shape. But that's even more reason to sew for me!

So much in there I could have written myself (so kind of good you didn't nominate me - it would sound like a repeat!) Especially with that showing everyone the mistakes thing (I know that too well too!). I am trying to fight that urge, and had some struggles with my latest quilt because there were little flaws from late night sewing, that meant the recipient never even got it. (Stitching down the binding now though and trying to let go!). Just take the compliments and run with them, you deserve them - don't belittle them by highlighting the flaws. I'll be your cheerleader!Austysmumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09346287173611932120noreply@blogger.com
