My creative space today involves turning this fabric into t-shirts for the boys. The stripes are quite thick, about 7cm. I got it from Spotlight. The only thing is that when I pre-washed, the bright colours have slightly tinted the white. Luckily, I did them separately! Any tips on getting my white white again? Or possibly avoiding this (slight) catastrophe in the future?
Hopefully I will be back soon to show off the results!

You can buy Colour Catchers from the supermarket. They are in a small packet of 10 sheets and they are great as if there are any colour runs they will catch them before they get onto your fabric or clothes. You can also recycle them.
ReplyDeleteI was going to say colour catchers too, but have never tried them myself. I keep meaning to get some for when I wash new red fabric, you just can't trust red!
ReplyDeleteLoving the fabric choice!!! ... I think there is also some product near all the dyes in Spotty for turning white white again.
ReplyDeletei have to make sure to check back next week ... the fabric is amazing.

Bright and Bold, very nice - hope you sort the colour thing - sorry can't be any help :-S
ReplyDeleteIn the US we have Color Catchers too- they are cloth (a little like a terrycloth towel, just really small) that you put in the wash with your fabric and it "catches" the colors. I believe that it also can take colors out- if they have bled. I use them when I prewash fabric and they work wonders!
