Boy 1 and Boy 2

I made my boys matching pajamas, using Kwik Sew 3126 and some lovely, stripy flannelette I got from Spotlight.

My Creative Space

I am working on the name badge swap for Sew It Together.

I finally have some text that is readable, but the badge needs to be no more than 9cm in any direction (hey, did it occur to anyone that name badges can be 3 dimensional, meaning your badge could stick out 9cms from the bearer's chest, tee-hee!). I think I have found a solution, hopefully it works.

But wait! There is no name on the badge! That's because it is a secret.... shhh... more will be revealed in the near future.

Changing the Oil

When I got my industrial machine, it was in desperate need of some love and attention.

It spent some time sitting on someone's veranda. It then lived at my parent's house for a number of years. I was a little concerned about the oil and talked to a couple of people about changing the oil. The common response was to just top it up, and yes, it was low, but it was also very, very dirty. It had leaves, broken needles, buttons and pins in there and once I started cleaning it out, I also discovered dead earwigs and beetles. Eww! So change the oil it was!

I managed to get myself some oil from Marks Mega Store on EBay, and when it arrived on Friday morning I got started.

First, I drained the oil, and then I gave it a good wipe out with a rag. I then filled it back up to just under the high level mark with nice clean oil. It took about 6-700mls of the 1L bottle that I bought.

Now it is all clean, I feel more comfortable using the machine!

My Creative Space...

....has moved.

Paige has moved back in with us for a while, and so I had to give up my sewing room so that she could sleep in there instead of on the couch!

The couch that was in here, and the toys have all moved to the lounge room to join the other couch and the rest of the toys.

It's not all bad, there is more light, and more space, and I've got a great view of the back yard, so I can now keep an eye on the kids playing out there whilst I sew or get inspired by other peoples blogs.

All I need now is some motivation to get started on something. I've been in here for four days and no sewing....?
