Scissor Storage
I have a lot of scissors. More than you see here. I recently ordered myself a magnetic knife rack from simply homes to store my scissors. It gets them up off my table and away from small, inquisitive children. It's much easier to find the ones I want this way, too. I could probably use another one for more scissors, and wouldn't mind having a few more of these around the house for screw-drivers, utensils and... ummm... knives?.

Paper Foundation Piecing
This is my first attempt at paper foundation piecing. Paper foundation piecing is where you stitch your fabric to a paper foundation. The pattern was from Compuquilt, and I found some great tutorials on-line to help me along, including this video from Connecting Threads:
Now whilst that little tool that Karen uses looks lovely, I didn't rush out and get one. Which is fine, you really don't need it. In fact, I reckon whilst it would probably make things quicker, it would also mean that I would think about what I was doing a little less, and perhaps I might have cut off more than four "pieces" along with their seam allowances. Yep. I did that. I didn't take any pictures, but that is a little mis-hap that you want to avoid.
The centre of the star is a bit bulky, with all those seams converging in there. I'm not sure what can be done about that? Perhaps that is why I see so many with buttons and yoyos over the middle?

Busy, Busy, Busy
It has been a little bit crazy around here. Please excuse my lack of blogging.
Liam started kinder. Three days a week.
Noah started three year old kinder. He only goes on one day, but it is a different day to Liam.
Some bedroom painting happened. I also had an accident involving my little toe and some chicken wire, requiring a couple of stitches, which delayed bedroom painting a bit, but it's almost done.
The colour is Zeftron by Dulux. It is a very rich colour. I'm thinking it will go well with all the pink that is probably going to end up in there.
Some crafting happened here too, but I'll get to that later.

A Gift for a Baby Girl
One of my friends from Mum's Group had a baby girl the day before Amélie's birthday.
Of course, this is a really good excuse to make a cute little girlie outfit.
This time I made it with shirring on the bloomers instead of stitching elastic there.
I did this with Amélie's bloomers too, but never took a picture. I have used a small piece of ribbon to show where the back is. This ribbon had cute little bears on it.
