Inspired by Nikki (of My Black Cardigan's) "My Creative Space" from a couple of weeks ago, I decided to order myself some Sugar 'n Cream and knit myself some lovely cotton dishcloths.
My parcel from American Yarns (actually in Brisbane, not America) arrived on Monday morning, and I got started pretty much straight away. It was a sunny day, so the kids spent a fair bit of time outdoors. Normally this would mean creativity would come to a standstill as I supervised, but knitting is portable!
The one pictured was actually completed yesterday morning. My first use of the dishcloth saw the water turn a lovely pink, but that seems to have sorted itself out now.
I must say, it is very good for cleaning stovetops and removing crusty cereal from chair legs! Lots of scrubbing power with no scratching.
There's nothing more lovely that knitted or crochet dishcloths.
ReplyDeletewill not lose that pink beauty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous shade of pink. Makes the household tasks a little more enjoyable I bet!
ReplyDeleteI have been needing to make some of these but now I really want to make them after your post...Lovely and super effective, can't beat it...
ReplyDeleteLovin' the color!
such a delicious colour!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty dishcloth. I should give making these ago you have inspired me to give them a go.
ReplyDeleteI have my Moo knitting us a dish cloth too after seeing Nikki's post as well YAY....
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your boy. My Girl turned 1 today yay.
Oh I love that colour! Until recently I have only crocheted washcloths but I am loving knitting some at the moment. And loving how portable the wooly crafts are too.
ReplyDeleteIve stated it elsewhere I am intrigued by this... I keep thinking, HOW? how does it do the job my dodgy ugly scrubber thingo does? They look ACE. Peta
ReplyDeleteAnd that's precisely why I am addicted! I might look like a Nanna with my knitting in tow, but I feel so sorry for all the parents hanging around for kid pick up with nothing to do! (and I love it when school assembly runs late)...
ReplyDeletePretty dischloths and pink water would make the chore that much more enjoyable I think!
ReplyDeleteI've found nothing beats Sugar and Cream dishcloths!! Love the color of yarn you chose. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're happy with the dishcloths Carmel. Who would have thought a knitted thing would be so good for washing dishes! I love the pink.
