These two beautiful fabrics have been in my stash for a couple of years. I have about 3m of the one on the left, and about 160cm of the one on the right. They weren't bought together, and until I slapped them down on the table next to each other the other day, I had never considered they may work together.
I am unsure of what sort of fabric they are, the one on the left is fairly lightweight and a bit like crepe? The other is sort of shirred and has sequins and frilly bits. I don't normally wear sparkly things but it's quite pretty.
I would love to hear what others would do with this fabric.
I should add, I want to make something for me to WEAR.
How about a Francesca skirt from Serendipidy studio? They have a few adult skirts.
ReplyDeleteWide legged pants?
I think a skirt would look great. With the skirt you could add a thick band to the top to include the contrast fabric and then have the band also down the bottom. Or a basic skirt with a band down the bottom and a belt using the contrast fabric??? And I love the idea of some wide legged 3/4 pants like what Carolyn said. Can't wait to see the outcome.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a skirt with the fabric on the right as your main colour. You could make a peasant stule 7/8 length skirt, summery and lovely. Then you could incorpoate your fabric on the left between laters somehow... Does that even make sense? LOL
ReplyDeleteThey look amazing together!
ReplyDeleteThere's a girls skirt over at owlet that might work up-sized for a lady! http://owlet-designs.blogspot.com/2009/10/in-shop.html
I'd make a skirt out of the print and a top out of the pretty grey one. (love that one!)
ReplyDeleteI've even got some patterns that might work - I'll check and get back later.
